Chetek Community Center 711 1st Street Chetek, WI 54728 715-924-3121 All Ages Welcome The Chetek Community Senior Center is open to all people of any age. The Chetek Senior Citizens, Inc. makes its home in the Center and offers activities specifically for seniors, but there are other activities that would be appropriate for adults of any age. People are not turned away from any activity in which they wish to participate. Activities A newsletter is available at the Center and includes a monthly calendar of activities. Regularly scheduled activities include: o Exercise groups – aerobics, strength training, Tai Chi, Arthritis exercises, and dance o Games – 500, shuffleboard, cribbage, euchre, and more o Dinners – Dining at 5, birthday potlucks, an occasional fish fry o Health services – foot care, nurse visit and blood pressure checks, chair massage o Trips – Dining Club outings, day trips, overnights, and an annual week long trip o Shopping trips – weekly in Chetek and twice a month to Rice Lake o Spiritual – weekly praise and worship service and weekly bible study o Crafts – cement crafts, gourd painting, card making, scrap booking, crocheting This is not a comprehensive list, as new activities are added regularly. Chetek Senior Citizens, Inc. Become a member of the Chetek Senior Citizens, Inc. Dues are $6.00 per year and you will receive a monthly newsletter in the mail, as well as a free dinner coupon for your birthday and money off on some trips. Stop by the Center for more information. Meals Barron County Nutrition program operates a meal site at the Community Center. Meals are served Monday through Friday for a suggested donation of $3.25. Reservations must be made before 6:00 p.m. the day before. Please call 925-2600 to make your reservation. A menu is included in the Senior Review as well as our newsletter. Meals on Wheels are also packed and delivered from the Center. Volunteers are always needed for this program.
